Retro Movie Review:Fight Club

Published by nickf at 9:37 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Fight Club- There are so many words that I can use to describe this movie, Thought-evoking, psychologically intriguing, emotionally scarring, but most importantly just awesome. Fight Club is visually stunning and the dialogue is pure genius. “The things you own end up owning you” “you are not a beautiful or unique snowflake, you are the same decaying matter as everything else”, these are the lines that make Fight Club one of the greatest movies ever to come out of
Hollywood. David Fincher (Se7en, The curious case of Benjamin Button) does such a great job directing this movie; it really is amazing how he brought out such great performances from all the actors. The acting was the best I have ever seen from Edward Norton (American History X, Primal Fear) and Brad Pitt (The curious case of Benjamin button, Mr. and Mrs. Smith), both of them were just so into their character that I was literally blown away. Never has there been a movie that just stomps on the face of society like Fight Club with its dark humor and its view on our modern establishment and the animalistic nature of human beings, This movie goes above and beyond all my expectations for it, if you haven’t seen Fight Club yet, you need to see it now. I give this one five out of five stars.
